About Our Firm
The firm was founded in 1990 by Jill M. Cicero, and has received a Best Lawyers® Tier 1 ranking for Trusts and Estates Law in Rochester, New York from 2011, the initial year of law firm rankings, through 2024. Our practice focuses exclusively on estate planning, trust and estate administration, and related gift and estate tax matters. The majority of our nearly 1,500 clients are high-net-worth individuals who require sophisticated estate and tax planning.
Services
We make it a priority to provide a high level of expertise and personal service in a small firm setting. Our role is to assist our clients in making informed decisions about their estate planning, and then use our technical expertise to implement that planning. As part of that process, we educate our clients about the complex laws that affect estate planning, the planning choices available, and the pros and cons of those choices as they relate to each client’s specific circumstances. One of our strengths is communication: we listen carefully in order to understand our clients’ wishes and concerns, and we explain clearly the legal concepts and issues that affect our clients. We believe we represent our clients well when we employ our best professional efforts on their behalf, and they understand their options, their decisions and their overall planning.
